Life at a Solace villa

Lifestyle

Slow down. It suits you here.

What a stay here is actually like once the airport is behind you — the rhythm of the days, the quiet, and the hour of the evening everyone ends up talking about afterwards.

What it is made of

Four things, done properly.

A door that is only yours

01 · Entire home

A door that is only yours

No lobby, no corridor, no neighbours through the wall. You let yourself in with a code whenever you land, and for the length of your stay the house belongs to you and nobody else walks through it.

Quiet you can actually hear

02 · Gated village

Quiet you can actually hear

A gated village, cameras on the property, and a back garden where the loudest thing is birdsong. Guests use the same three words without prompting: clean, private, quiet. It is the whole product.

A kitchen worth using

03 · Self-catering

A kitchen worth using

Full kitchen, hot water, air conditioning, a table to eat at. Cook what you bought at the market, or let us stock it before you arrive and send someone to cook it properly.

Ten minutes to the water

04 · Beach access

Ten minutes to the water

Hellshire for fried fish and a crowd, Fort Clarence when you want the sand to yourself. Sea on one horizon from the patio, the hills on the other, and neither costs you a resort night.

Entire home, Self check-in, No dress code, Slow mornings, Ten minutes to sand, Late dinners

A day, roughly

Nothing is scheduled. It still has a shape.

  1. 06:40

The light comes over the harbour

It arrives fast this close to the equator. Coffee on the patio before the heat sets in is the best twenty minutes of the day.

  2. 09:00

    Breakfast at your own table

Whatever you bought, or whatever we put in the fridge before you got here. Nobody has decided what the day looks like yet, which is the correct approach.

  3. 11:30

    Hellshire

Ten minutes down the road. Fried fish, festival, bammy, and a plastic chair with your feet in the sand.

  4. 15:00

    The flat hour

Too hot to be ambitious. Air conditioning, the shaded end of the garden, and a book you have been carrying around for two years.

  5. 18:20

    The hills go gold

The sun drops behind the ridge and the whole village changes colour. This is the part guests photograph without meaning to.

  6. 20:00

    Kingston, or not

Twenty minutes up the causeway if you want the city. Or the garden, a cold drink, and the crickets — which is what most people choose by the third night.

Who it suits

Come to work, to rest, or to mark something.

Working here

A dedicated desk, fast Wi-Fi and air conditioning, with monthly rates for anyone staying a while or moving back.

Two of you

What the house was made for. One bedroom, a private garden, and nobody else in the building.

Occasions

Birthdays, anniversaries, and at least one proposal in the back garden. Tell us in advance and we will set it up.

The best version of this trip is the one we plan with you.
